Recently, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report on its findings with respect to federal agencies’ usage of social media. It found that 23 agencies use sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to disseminate information and strengthen ties with the public. However, only twelve of these 23 have official record keeping policies.
